28/29 Steering Wheel Hubs

Geoff mentioned this problem once before and I let the issue get by

without asking for further details. How do you check the existing wheel hub

and if it is bad, how do you replace it? I attempted to pull my control rods

out to lube them one time but was stopped when the top portion hit the

headliner. It looked to me like the whole body (I have a Briggs Town Sedan)

would have to be removed just to get the silly controls off. Is there another

way? Once they are out, how does the wheel/hub come off? Will a modern

steering wheel puller work?

I would be VERY interested in 2 or 3 of the AL steering wheel hubs. I

would think it would be best if they were cast and machined all together so

they would be ready for painting and insulation. If you are interested in

doing up a batch Geoff, please let us know. Anybody else?
