Re: [HSS] Re: Instruction Book
Hi Gene,
Could I ask you a favour? I need a pair of Detroit Hudson carbies for my racer,
but I have none! The same carb seems to have been fitted to the Super 6 from
1917 to 1926, but they're a bit thin on the ground in Australia. It turns out
that I'm not the only one here building a racer and the usual sources have dried
up!
There's an outfit called The Carburetor Shop in Eldon, Missouri, that lists
overhaul kits for the Detroit Hudson (same kit #, 1677 for all years) and I
suspect they may also stock some used carbies.
They have a web site: www.thecarburetorshop.com
Because of the time difference it's difficult for me to call them - and it's
expensive - so I wonder if you'd mind calling them to see if they actually have
the carbs and kits and if so, what are the prices and what is the likely
shipping cost to Australia via UPS/Fedex/whoever. I can then decide whether
or not to go ahead.
The number is (573) 392-7378. They're open 8am - 5pm Central time.
An alternative I have is to fit 3 x Essex carbs (similar but smaller), but I'd
prefer to stay with Hudson if I can.
Cheers,
Peter R.
