29 Clutch Throwout "Collar"

In cleaning and painting bits and pieces from the '29 clutch/transmission

assembly, I ran across a machined cast iron "collar" that slides on a bush

surrounding the transmission input shaft. It's purpose is to communicate

motion from the throwout fork to the throwout bearing.

The collar has a set screw that looks like it should ride in a slot

machined in the bush that the collar rides on. Is this correct? If so, this

one is WAY out of adjustment, being 1/8" shy of being flush with the inner

surface of the collar. To ride in the slot, it would have to be deeper yet.

Is there perhaps another little piece that the set screw pushes into the

slot? How should this assembly be setup and adjusted?
