eGroups Becomes Yahoo! Groups

I posted the following info. to an eGroups mailing list I manage that is

related to one of my other interests. I thought I would share it with

my fellow Hudsonites, who may not already be aware of this change. Late

last evening, eGroups became Yahoo! Groups.

eGroups was purchased by Yahoo! last summer. Beginning last night,

visitors to the eGroups website (http://www.egroups.com) are now being

redirected to the new Yahoo! Groups site (http://groups.yahoo.com). To

use any of the features on the website (i.e. reading the list archives,

modifying your list subscription, etc.), you must associate your

eGroups/Yahoo! Groups account with a Yahoo! ID. Instructions on the

website will guide you through the process. If you do not currently

have a Yahoo! ID, Yahoo! Groups will help create one for you.

All of the @eGroups.com mailing addresses are supposed to continue

functioning as before. However, my policy is "better safe than sorry."

So, I've updated my address book to @yahoogroups.com. If you'll notice,

any of the messages/replies received today are to/from (mailing list

name)@yahoogroups.com.
