egroups (Sob) Is Gone

As some of you may have noticed, egroups has been seized by yahoo and

some needless complications added to our lives. There are two bits of good

news in all of this. First, all posting and email distribution functions

appear to be working normally with no action required on your part. We MAY

eventually have to change our posting address. Second, it is possible to get

back the use of the list home page services by "converting" your "egroup"

identity to a yahoo one.

To do this, go to the list home page listed at the bottom of this post

and follow the directions to do the conversion. yahoo wants to know a bunch

of info that is none of their beeswax and this might be one arena that

truthlessness and evasion are virtues. There is one area that has a check box

that needs to be unchecked to avoid shameless spamming by some unscrupulous

persons.

Go ahead and take the few minutes it requires to do the conversion and we

can all get back to normal. It seems a little circular and confusing, but you

will get through!
