What Goes Here?

I have a little bit of a hybrid here and I'm not sure what is missing.
The motor is my new '26, but the oil pump is believed to be the later '29
model. Somewhere between Canada and Salt Lake the piece that went from the
ignition advance control rod to the oil pump fell out. The oil pump looks to
be solid with only a hole to locate the end of the rod. What went here?
