> You can't use a regulator with the original generator, but what you can do is remove the field fuse. Solder a wire on to one side of the fuse fitting and run it up to a heater rheostat, and from the output of the rheostat connect to earth. Then advance the third brush to maximum charge. Then you can regulate the charge rate from inside the car, with the rheostat mounted under the dash. I had this set-up on my N0.1 '29 h 7 pass, and it worked well. However, whatever set-up you have, the problem with the large generator used on this model is that the faster you go the less the generator charges, hence you have to stick with 24W bulbs to prevent discharging the battery if you are travelling any distance at night.
