Special "Rivet"

    The shutter bellcrank was held together by a special stepped rivet from

    the factory. I needed to use a different shell from the one my car came with

    and the old linkage had to be removed from the old shell and added to the new

    one. This required a special rivet that had to be fabricated by one of the

    Saints of our local old car community, Jim Eliot. He machined it with a

    socket head screw so that it could be removed in the future.

    The attached pic shows the drilled out original on the left and the new

    one on the right. I will post more pics and a scan of a dimensioned drawing

    to the Files section in the next few days.
