Frank, a 1928 Hudson had the same problem on the last run I went on.

Turned out the fuel tank hadn't been filled for 6 months and the petrol

had gone bad, as it was sitting with the tank half full, allowing the

volatile stuff to evaporate away, leaving the heavy base. A clean up

of the plugs and some fresh fuel had it running again. Also, check the

heat range of the spark plugs, theymay be older cold type. The only

ones availabe here now are Champion D16, which are mid-range, but seem

to work okay. Good luck,
