only poor design feature of the Lesters, having just straight grooves
longitudinally around the tread. Any cross-ply tyre will "tram" along
grooves in the road, it has nothing to do with tread pattern. Lucas
tyres have a good tread pattern, but I have had bad reports of their
wearing qualities. The main reason I went for the Lesters was their 6
ply rating and full ballon 650.19 size, as the 7 pass. sd is a heavy
car, and 4-ply tyres are just not good enough for the back wheels.
