Needed: source for seat adjusting "nut" on 29 Town Sedan
One of the things that needs fixing on my new '29 Town Sedan is the adjusting mechanism for the front seat. There is a round "nut" that is threaded through the middle, about one inch diameter and half an inch thick, made of pot metal. Like many things made of this stuff, it has broken in half, and so the seat can't be adjusted.
Does anyone know of a source for these? Or a suggestion for how one could make or cause to be made a new one? I could probably make it myself from aluminum or brass stock if I had an appropriate thread cutter, but that seems unlikely to be had.
And I agree with Geoff: a modern reproduction of the dash mount clock would be a Good Thing. Count me among the buyers if someone wants to venture into that enterprise. There seem to be a lot of over-enthusiastic bidders on each one of these that crops up on eBay -- even the ones in poor condition.
