Headlight Mounts on 29 SS

Does anyone know if the headlight brackets on a 29 SS should be

bolted directly to the fender, or should they be cushioned with some

sort of gasket?



I'm about to reinstall the headlights on my Town Sedan. I don't have

any gaskets of appropriate shape, so I'm not sure there should be

something. But my instinct says there should. If so, what material?

Cork? Leather? Rubber?
