I shot the pics with you in mind Zeke. That car was a puzzlement, which
was why I inserted the question mark after the year 1924. The few '24s I have
ever seen were ringers for the '25s. They both had the triple crowned
fenders, for example. The owner of this magnificent touring was a
knowledgeable gent named Evo from central CA somewhere. He was quite sure
this was a proper '24, but I still have my doubts.
In the 20s, Hudson had the somewhat disreputable policy of declaring the
second part of a year's production as being the following year's model. Could
this lovely big touring car really be a late '23, only "legally" a '24? I'm
pretty sure my '26 Coupe was originally sold as a '27.
As for the bevel and the doors, I can only speculate that perhaps this
car was built up from bits and pieces of other cars. If you look at the frame
at the rear of the car, the mounting lugs for the spare tire mount can
clearly be seen.
