After applying lots of gentle torque and soaking in oil and trying other

unsuccessful methods, a pal of mine tried tapping the ring from behind with a

wooden drift. We tapped only where there was a rivet and in the direction of

the bayonet slot. After weeks of spinning my wheels, a few seconds of light

tapping winkeled it off. A little deburring with a file on the can made the

rim fit as snuggly as it should, but still come off easily. Thanks for making

it possible.
