Oil Pressure Problem Resolved
Thanks for all the input, guys. Following your collective advice, I
disassembled the pump (everything looked fine, except the top ball valve
may have been stuck), reassembled, and cranked the engine briefly. No joy.
So I opened the top and poured a few tablespoons of oil in, letting it
seep around the ball valve (which wasn't tight without the spring).
Restart. Wham! 3.5 lbs of oil pressure.
Now it's back to resolving the clutch problem.
