Water pump packing
I bought some of the packing rings from Kenneth Johnson (317)-844-8154
(Hemmings). They are rings of packing material with a diagonal cut
through them. You slip them over the shaft and tighten the packing
nut down. I think they work better than wrapping the shaft with the
string. Five or six of the rings are about $15.00. Zeke
