Speedo Faces

Does anyone know of an outfit that has reproduction
or NOS Stewart-Warner speedo faces?  I've just dismantled my speedo and
it's mainly OK but I wouldn't like my chances of doing a viable repair on the
face - it's too far gone.

I know with the right software (and talent) you can
create instrument faces quite easily.  Any ideas?

King Rhiley was the guy from Western Nebraska.  Actually his grand-nephew
works for me, he says the

car was actually from Oshkosh NE.  Now that is REALLY in the
sticks.  He also says the car had some

type of dual aluminum carburetors.  Wonder what they might have
been?  Gary Kuck

There used to be an original racer in

some Colorado hillclimb.  This racer

had 6 "zoomie" exhaust headers directly
out the side of the hood about a foot

long.

Having grown up in Denver, I can tell you
with certainty that this refers to the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb,
which goes 12.4 miles to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak.

Details are on the web side at
http://www.ppihc.com.

The web site has a page of historical
winners, going back to 1916, the first year of the event, which was won by
-- tah dah! -- Ralph Mulford in a Hudson Super Six Special (for "Event 2";
there were 3 events).

Another racer, King Rhbiley, won in 1921
and 1922 in a Hudson Special, and in 1924 W.P. Bentrup won in an Essex
Special. After that, Stutz took over the winner's circle for a number of
years.

Essex Terraplanes won the Stock Car
division in 1932 and '33.

I also remember seeing that Hudson
products won the Mt. Washington Hill Climb, the highest peak in the
Northeast with a summit of 6288 feet, for a number of years in the 20s and
30s. Anyone know a source for that info?
