29 Town Sedan is up and running
Thanks in no small measure to advise and assistance from many on this
discussion group, our 1929 Town Sedan is officially up and running. I got
the clutch disassembled, unstuck, and reassembled over the last two
weekends. Tonight I put the floorboards back in place and took it out for
a short spin. How sweet it is! Everything seems to work just fine.
In particular, I'd like to thank Geoff Clark, Paul O'Neil, and Chris and
Kelley Purdum for their assistance, not only with advise but with parts
that were needed to fix a number of engine-related problems.
I've been travelling a lot on business recently, which means I have had a
lot of time in airplanes with my laptop. Thus, I've done quite a bit of
work on my Hudson web site, which includes both general information about
the 1929 Hudson Super Six, and some specifics about our Town Sedan. I
invite you to visit it at
http://home.earthlink.net/~lewphelps/hudson_29/hudson_frame.html.
I have a page listing all the different model Hudsons in 1929, with
pictures of most of them. I'm missing the Coach, Convertible Coupe, and
7-Passenger Phaeton. Anyone know where I can get a photo or ad
illustration of those three models?
Still lots of work to do on the car, but as soon as I get the new wiring
harness installed, it will officially be a "driver."
Happy Hudsoning!
