fan belt length on 29 SS?

Does anyone know the proper length for the fan belt on the 1929 Super

Six engine? The belt that came with my Town Sedan (brand new, installed

by prior owner) is 42 inches circumference. this is almost certainly too

small, since even at the most relaxed setting of the fan belt tension,

it isn't loose enough to pass the test described in the service manual

(that is, to be able to pinch the belt between thumb and forefinger, and

have the gap close to about 1 inch to 1/2 inch).

I have had a lot of noise from the fan bearing. I took it off and

cleaned it, then reassembled it. But I don't want to reinstall until I

have the right belt size.

Also, it appears that there's not sufficient clearance to get the fan

off its shaft unless I remove the four blades. Am I missing something

here?
