Seriously Puzzling Engine Problem

Gentlemen, I have a seriously puzzling engine problem with my '29 Town

Sedan. The car starts easily. It runs strongly. I stop it for 30

minutes or so.



And then it absolutely will not restart.



this happened yesterday when I took it to the California DMV so they

could verify the VIN (and that was adventure in itself). When I tried

to restart, it would turn over but not fire. Even towing at 15 mph and

dropping it onto gear wouldn't get it going. Dead, dead, dead.



This morning, after sitting all night and getting cold, it started again.



Can one of the Wise Hands on this list guide me to the source of the

problem?
