Motometers

I followed thru on your earlier discussion of Motometers. Dottie up
at Restoration Supply indicated:
"We can suply senior thermometers only."Senior" refers to
size....3-3/8" head , 5/8 thread. "Junior" has 2-3/8" head, 7/16
thread."
Has anyone taken these units apart? It's obvious the facial screws
allow the removal of the glass lenses. Does the 5/8 & 7/16 thread
Dottie is talking about join the display area of the meter to the
radiator cap? If so how treacherous is this operation?
