New Photo of Hudson Factory
I recently acquired on eBay an old postcard that is an aerial picture
(probably hand-tinted black and white photo) of the Hudson Motor Co. in
Detroit, MI.
The postmark on the reverse side, also smudged, seems to indicate that
the postcard was mailed April 17, 1920. It appears to be written "back
home' by someone just hired to go to work at Hudson.
There is a plume of smoke coming from one chimney that clearly was added
with a water color paint brush. Interesting change in attitude! In those
days smoke coming from a stack was a symbol of industrial progress.
Today it's considered bad stuff.
