29 Essex Generator Search

Help: I just got this car and the generator is MISSING!!! Can anyone

help to find one or have one to sell? Original autolite #GAM-4101.

Apperently someone tried to attach and convert to an alternator that

is mounted to a couple of the bolts of the oil pan about six inches

below original gen. position. It looks as though the plan was to

attach a pulley and belt to the drive shaft to turn this alternator,

but there is no pulley or belt. The alternator is just mounted there

with wires leading through the firewall and to ignition switch and

the amp gauge. I am not good at electrical and am at a loss as to go

with this alternator or try to go back to a generator (which I would

prefer) This message is getting too long--Please help-By the way, I

am in SoCal if any of you have a source for local purchase. Thanks in
