Re: [HSS] 1926 body parts list on eBay

The listings contain part description, Hudson part number, B&S part
number and the number of such items per car. Mine has two
illustration pages, one for sedans, one for broughams and a list of
Pittsburgh Plate Glass warehouses.
In 25 years of owning an early brougham (ser 619162, probably built
summer 1925, with the "bowtie" door handles) I've only ever used the
list for educational browsing, but then where would you get Biddle and
Smart parts today anyway?
Happy to look things up for listers, though, if there's any need. >>
Thanks Kit, for the very generous offer. When we deal with stuff as rare
as our old Super Sixes, knowledge comes in small nuggets from odd sources.
During the twenties, many body makers used a lot of small parts and hardware
bought from specialists that sold from catalogs.
My Anderson Coupe MAY well have (for example) the same window winder
handles as the Biddle and Smart cars, but how can we know? Short of actually
seeing a selection of cars, parts books, especially the illustrated ones, can
sometimes provide clues.
Last year, we figured out that the mid twenties cars should have some
sort of motor mounts just by looking in the parts book.
