Great Race update

Super Sixers, The Great Race has been purchased
from the Founder Tom McRae by 10 men who are all Great Race participants, the
most notable being Jack Rousch of Rousch Racing, NASCAR fame. The new General
Manager is Wayne Stanfield, 5 time winner of the Great Race. It is my
understanding that the Race will be run the same as always, with seasoned
rallyist's and amateurs alike.This year's Race was slightly abbreviated due
to the lack of a major sponsor (History Channel, MBNA, Interstate Battery
before). The Race continues to be the ultimate Old Car Race or Rally for anyone
wanting to push their car and themselves that much. I suspect the new owners
will be publicizing the Race shortly, after some time to organize. Several
of the Professional Staff and almost all of the volunteer Staff are
remaining with the Race.   FYI  Bob Harris
