All Cal Tour Finalized
I know, Kats & Kittens, that you have all been waiting anxiously for
AllCall Tour details to be announced. Well, the long wait is over and the
last detail is in place!
Drum roll if you please, Professor! The 2002 All California Meet Driving
Tour will leave on or about 11 A.M. Saturday, September 21 and tour north on
Hwy 1 to the town of Lucia! We will stop for an unhurried lunch and return to
San Simeon by reversing our course and driving south on the same route. Keep
your eyes peeled on the outbound leg for points of interest, and time and
inclination permitting, we will stop on the way back to admire the scenery.
And speaking of scenery, some of the most spectacular coast in the world
lies right along our route. Bring your camera, it will be a great opportunity
to shoot our cars in motion along the route and parked in interesting scenic
locations. The Coast Highway is quite twisty in places so that even our
oldest cars need not fear being left behind. The touring speeds should not
exceed 40 - 45 mph.
Lunch has been arraigned at the Lucia Lodge. Our menu choices are:
1. Caesar Salad 10.95
2. Classic Fish & Chips 11.95
3. Californian Sandwich 9.95
Thinly sliced turkey with sprouts, tomatoes, provolone cheese and avocado
on whole
wheat bread
4. Garlic Chicken Sandwich 10.95
Garlic Marinated char broiled breast of chicken with cheese and pesto
aioli
5. Veggie Sandwich 9.95
Avocado, cheese. cucumber, sprouts, tomatoes and onion on sliced wheat
bread
6. Lucia Classic Hamburger 10.95
Ground sirloin with cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions and tomato
7. Beverages 2.50
Service charge will be added -- that's the tip folks!
Prices do not include tax -- of course not . . . Did anyone really think the
tax might be included?
The restaurant wants to know how many empty tummies to prepare for, te,
he, he! I told them we will only know for sure when we leave that morning.
What would you reckon for estimates? Anybody care to hazard a guess or SWAG?
Unless I hear something otherwise, I'm going to ask them to expect between 15
& 25 hungry Hudson fans.
