6-40 Trials & tribulations

Hi guys So nice to see the piuctures of Bills 6-54
engine. Very nice. Yesterday my family and I went to the "Big E"It's MA state
fair,  with the 16 6-40 . Excellent drive over, great time showing and
talking, The parade went perfect. As we left the fair grounds and headed home.
About 1/2 mile we lost all power started backfiring. I thought the worst, off to
the side of the road. Upon inspection no massive holes anywhere or big leaks. I
had my son turn engine over with crank. I thrown the coupler from water pump
shaft to Dist/Gen drive. Bending the shaft as it went. No road side fix for
that. Call triple A request flatbed.  Luckly for me a friend drove by and
took my family home.  I've been down this road before so now I'll try to
improve on this "weak spot". I must find a more flexible and stonger coupler. I
think I know just the thing and while I'm in there it time to improve the
sealing of the water pump. Time to head off to the shop. Have a good day
