broken thermometer tube
Well, I discovered why I was getting leaking and inaccurate temperature
readings from the temp gauge; the little thin tube going from the
engine block to the dial was corroded, and literally fell apart as I
was taking the assembly off to pack it with graphite.
So....is there a way to fix this (which I doubt: how could one solder
the tube back together, restore the alcohol or whatever is inside the
sensor, and not block the tube?
Thus...is there any such thing as a modern replacement that would work
with the original dial? Or are there replacements available "out here'
from parts cars?
As with other items, more than willing to pay reasonable prices for
anyone who can come up with the needed part/parts.
Many thanks.
