27-29 Split rims

We have had a quote to make new split rims to fit the 1927-29 Hudson 19"

wood wheels. They will be around U.S.$250 each, and you will have to

transplant the locking device, either toggle lever, or hole and peg,

depending on which model you have, and drill the valve hole. There will

be freight on top of that, probably around $50 each. So you are looking

at U.S.$300 a piece minimum. I realise this is not cheap, but are there

any alternatives? Most of us have rims that have had the welds welded.

We have to have orders for at least 4 of these for the project to go

ahead, otherwise I will have to flag it away. Your early response

please, if you are interested. And another thing, you will have to

trust me on this, but I am not going to finance it, as I have been left

holding the can once too often, so if you want these rims, they must be

prepaid before the order is placed. This is a non-profit enterprise,

as a service to the H.S.S. Group. (I don't need rims as mine are all

A-OK)
