Holley pressure regulator
Attachments :
I installed the Holley pressure regulator tonight; it seems to do the
job very well.
This is a much more "precision" piece of hardware than the little
dial-a-pound pressure regulator I had before (and which everyone seems
to have used, because it was readily available). See the pix attached.
A few details:
1. the input and output fittings screw into 3/8" IP threaded female
openings.
2. There are two outputs (so it can be used in dual carb setups). One
is plugged in this application.
3. Pressure is set by adjusting the 1/8" IP sized "screw" on the top.
counter-intuitively, screwing it out DECREASES the pressure setting,
and screwing it in increases pressure. Once the pressure is set, you
tighten the lock nut and it will NOT change adjustment. In this
respect, it is much peferable to the dial type units (which are not
only inferior, but also no longer available).
4. It comes with a mounting bracket, so it allows mounting on the
firewall and thus a very neat installation overall.
5. If the shiny chrome finish bothers you, Holley makes a satin finish
version.
If you're buying one of these, make sure you specify the right unit.
Holley makes a 0-4 psi regulator, and a 4-9 psi regulator as well. For
our Hudsons, we want the former one.
