The steering box has roller cone bearings on the top and bottom of the

shaft, which is adjustable. The cross shaft has a bronze bushing, any

compentent engineering shop can replace this for you. I have found that

a little looseness in this bushing does not affect the steering ability.

The box has to be adjusted sequentially, with the drop arm disconnected

from the drag link. 1. Adjust end play of column. 2. Adjust end play of

cross shaft, 3. Adjust depth mesh of work and wheel. If all the play is

taken out, then you should have no problems. However, it could be that

your caster and toe-in is also out, which will cause the car to wander.

My offer still stands, pay my fare over and I'll do it for you free!
