Re: [HSS] Detroit-Lubricator problem on 25 Hudson

Here's a possibility: are you using the vacuum tank
for fuel supply?  Sometimes these are disconnected and it's easy to forget
to block off the connection between the inlet manifold and the vac tank.
You can guess how I know about this....

Subject: [HSS] Detroit-Lubricator problem
on 25 Hudson

I recently purchased a 1925 Hudson that has not been
started in over
10 years. We finally got it started after checking and
cleaning
everything out everything out. I can not get the engine to run
above
idle. I removed and soaked thecarburator and reassembled. The

butterfly is opening and closing but it runs as if the throttle is
not
working.I let the car run for one hour and I still have the same
problem.
Also I need to remove and clean the oil pan and to replace
float on oil
sight gauge. Does it use any kind of cork and if so, do
I need to treat
the cork with a sealer. Any help would be
appreciated!!!!!
