this clutch spring is making my head spin
Thanks (I think) for the info.
She spring in the pic looks sort of familiar
although I have not seen the offending part in 3 plus
years. (for those of you that dont know the problem,
one has to use 2 feet on the clutch and it lugs the
engine when depressed)
Does anyone have the relaxed dimensions of this
spring?. as I recall it nests against a brass or
bronze bushing in the end of the crank. Could this
bushing be not original? Wish I had pics to show this
stuff. If I recall correctly the bushing looked like
it could be turned down some to allow the spring to
relax a bit. It also looks like the center was
machined to act as a pilot for the end of the input
shaft from the trans. could this bushing have been
"home made" to put more tension on a slipping clutch?
am I opening a can of worms??
Bill
