this clutch spring is making my head spin

Thanks (I think) for the info.

She spring in the pic looks sort of familiar

although I have not seen the offending part in 3 plus

years. (for those of you that dont know the problem,

one has to use 2 feet on the clutch and it lugs the

engine when depressed)

Does anyone have the relaxed dimensions of this

spring?. as I recall it nests against a brass or

bronze bushing in the end of the crank. Could this

bushing be not original? Wish I had pics to show this

stuff. If I recall correctly the bushing looked like

it could be turned down some to allow the spring to

relax a bit. It also looks like the center was

machined to act as a pilot for the end of the input

shaft from the trans. could this bushing have been

"home made" to put more tension on a slipping clutch?



am I opening a can of worms??
