1929 Hudson Tailight sale on eBay

I thought the group would be interested to know that a 1929 Hudson tail

light, described as being in very good condition, sold on eBay over the

weekend for the astonishing price of $504.



I was going to bid on it, but I was only willing to put in a bid at

stratospheric levels, not clear into outer space.



The winning bidder has the ebay username essexsix. I wish him well in

his restoration of his Hudson.



For the rest of us: given what we now know to be the market price for

Hudson taillights, is there any interest in reviving the project to

have tail light shells manufactured? I had a quote from a supplier in

Pasadena, who does very nice work, of about $150 each for the shells

only (not the whole light) in a quantity of ten or more. I have the

"guts" for a second tail light (which I need since I have turn signals

on my 29 Town Sedan) so I am interested in proceeding. Any other

takers? I need more orders to make the project feasible, since the tool

and tie costs are quite high.
