That one is definitely not the correct one for your Essex, it turns the

wrong way, and would automatically retard instead of advance as speed

increased! It is for a Hudson '42 onwards. The correct one for your car is

IGB4022, but the earlier IB4001 will fit if you cna find one. Actually any

distributor from '24 thru 31 will fit okay. I can probably make one up out

of bits and pieces if you can't find one, so do get back to me if nobody

else can help out.

Looks like I'm going to need a distributor for my new '29. Is there a

number for this distributor? There is one on eBay that is labeled

Hudson and gives a number. Could be for any year, it doesn't say.
