The pressure reading is inconsequential, as it is only an indication that

the pump is working. What did it show before? How are you off for

replacement gears? I take it you mean the gear on the bottom of the drive

for the distributor shaft. How about the gear on the main timing shaft? If

you want to reduce the pressure, remove the hexagonal top cap off the oil

pump and insert a couple of fibre washers under. It would also pay to check

that the plunger valve is not sticky as well. Lew is sending me a front

transmission cap, thanks for the offer. Perhaps if yours is a spare you

could get it to Lew sometiem and that will enable him to keep a complete

transmission on hand.
