Just one thing to check, that when the polarity of the battery was changed,

that the coil polarity was also swapped. If you have a modern coil, check

that the negative terminal is connected to the ignition switch, and positive

goes to the distributor. I believe the original coild were marked "SW" and

"CB", so check these and reverse them if they are still in the original

position. Otherwise, other than a good tune-up, there is not a lot you can

externally. I ahve re-profiled the camshaft on my '29 Hudson and gained

significant improvement both in power and economy.
