29 Roadster Pics Posted

While at the Petersen to deliver the '29 Town Sedan this past Saturday, I took a few snaps of Glenn Johnson's 1929 Hudson Roadster. While Biddle & Smart had done the Roadster in 1928, Hudson used Briggs in 1929 and the cars are very different.

The Briggs Roadster has a much bigger cockpit than the B & S model did. I believe that I might fit into the Briggs model more easily than the tighter B & S job. Also, there is some commonality with the beltline molding with my Briggs Town Sedan and the Briggs Roadster. Both have an elegant curved double beltline. Both cars share the same non standard 29 Hudson door handles. Can this be a factory situation or were both cars switched at some point to the same handle, a coincidence that strains credulity? I have always assumed that the Town Sedan should have had Rose Pattern handles.

I have also included a snap of Perry Spring's Coupe to show the differences in step plate placement. Were they really different or was one or the other changed over the years?
