Barn Fresh Hudson

Just thought I let everyone know that I brought home a barn fresh

Hudson this past week. Not only barn fresh but one of only four (4)

firetrucks known in the club.(that I know of) I have been waiting for

almost 8 years for this one. It is a 1922 Hudson. Orginally from the

Porterville California Fire Department. They had two 1922 Hudson

tourings and one was made into a ladder and hose unit and mine is the

pumper unit. It is fitted with a Barton front mount pump, 250 gallon

water tank with a guick attack line and hard line roller at the rear.

Odometer shows only 35,000 miles. Engine is free but will do an

extensive check up before trying to start her up. Was used once a

year in Christmas parade untill about 10 years ago. Eight ply tires

still hold air. The Fire Department made a wheel change modification

so as to handle the weight. The tire size is 600 X 20. The old

picture showing both firetrucks show that the ladder truck has larger

size tires. Will put together a story for the WTN later this fall...
