Inlet .006 and exhaust .008, with engine hot. You should be able to get

new packing from agricultural machinery suppliers, or pump specialists. .

Go for the graphite-impregnated type, 5 mm square section. Wrap the

packing length around the shaft and cut longitudinally to get the right

size rings. Clean all the old packing out of the gland nut first, and put

three rings of new packing in with the joints staggered , with plenty of

moly anti-sieze paste, and tighten the gland nut. you will have to

re-tightne as the packing beds in. Remember that the rear packing nut is

left hand thread, so you tighten both nuts the same way, turning the top of

the spanner away from you. Good luck,

What is the clearences for valve adjustment? Hot or cold? My Fire

truck is running but it leaks at the water pump. Do I need to replace

the packing? Where can I get new packing?.... Richs. Central Calif.
