27 Hudson Wheel Restoration
Help Please,
I am restoring the wheels on my '27 Hudson. I have:
1) Remmoved, cleaned and varnished the wood spokes
2) Bead blasted the wheels and hubs
3) Painted the wheel hubs
4) Assembled two of the three wheels with a lot of cursing. (Spoke
wheels!@!@!)
5) Had the brake shoes renewed.
6) Purposely left the mechanical lever disconnected from the brake
assembly.
7) Installed two rear wheels over the new brakes shoes.
Question: With the frame off of the garage floor and the two
restored wheels in place, I attempted to turn the brake drum
successfully but with some reistance. When I turn the drum by hand
the brake drum will grab in spots. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Rick.
