Re: [HSS] 1927 hudson coupe

As far as I know, Hudson abandoned certain low volume models in the mid twenties when sales were brisk and they wished to concentrate on the best selling cars. Coupes & Roadsters were among the casualties.

There was a company that filled the gap by offering Hudson (and other makes) dealers a semi-custom option. The Anderson Body Co. provided sales material to dealers for customers interested in these models. Upon sale, Hudson shipped a chassis to Anderson where the body and other modifications were installed and the completed car was then shipped to the dealer.

As I recall, this arrangement was in place for 1925, 1926 & 1927. I have a second series 1926 Anderson Coupe which was almost certainly sold as a 1927 model as Hudson played games with model years in those days. I know of only one other  Anderson (or the follow on Pioneer) bodied car. It is a RHD 1927 Roadster from the Argentine that is owned by a fellow in Kentucky or Tennessee.
