Subject: [HSS] Seat Adjustment nut for
1929 Briggs Bodied vehicles available

A couple of years ago,
I had a part custom-made to repair the seat adjustment mechanism on my 1929
Hudson Town Sedan.  The mechanism is different than was used on other
Hudsons of that year.  It relied on a specially-shaped "nut" that was
made of pot metal and therefore subject to breakage.  I believe, but am
not sure, that this same mechanism was used on the 1929 5-passenger Phaeton
and 1929 Roadstser, both of which were made by Briggs.

At the time, I ordered five of
these "nuts" to get a volume discount from the machine shop. I used one of
these on my vehicle, and three others were sold at my cost ($75 each) to other
Briggs-bodied Hudson owners.   One remains.  If you are
interested, please email me offline at
hudsontownsedan(at)earthlink.net.

For pictures and discussion of
the specific repair and the brass fitting that replaces the broken pot metal
fitting, see:

This last remaining "nut" goes to
the first person who replies with an offer to buy; $80 including shipping by
USPS Priority Mail.  I don't intend to have any additional ones
manufactured unless there is overwhelming demand for them.
