I haven't seen the WTN but this is no doubt one of
three such cars that were built by some guys including Wolfgang Rebien of
Welshman's Reef, in the State of Victoria, Australia.  Two were run in
Australia for a few years and I believe both are now in the USA.  Wolf kept
one for himself.  They're highly modified '27s, I believe, and the bodies
are completely new.  They were built as Bentley-beaters (in Australia we
have a lot of vintage Bentleys and a lot of BS that goes with them - Wolf likes
poking fun at those sort of people).  There were some reliability problems
at first, but they go like the clappers! Sorry, Paul, I have no idea what make
the blowers are.

 

His own car has a body that is all timber - even
the "fenders" - a bit like the famous Dubonnet Hispano-Suiza.  I last saw
it about two years ago, not quite finished. Wolf's a clever boy.  He did
all the pattern-making for the blower castings and a lot of other bits.  He
also has a huge '29H tourer - can't remember much of the detail, but it's not a
standard car.

I have long thought a Super
Six would make a great LeMans style racer in the blower Bentley mold. Getting
a good set of center lock wheels would be expensive, but the body would be
minimal.

The car in the WTN looked like it has two early Super Six
carbies. The shell looks like a '28 to me. Does anyone have any more
details?
