Help Needed Identifying Parts

Hi Guys,

    I'm trying to help listmember
Jeff Stumb with his latest Hudson project and could use a little help with the
identification of some of the parts that he got in the deal.  This is a car
that was started a few years ago and never finished.  Below are a few of
the questions that I have and links to pictures that I've posted on my
webspace.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

 

1:    What year did Hudson go to
hydraulic brakes?  The following link is a photo of the brake shoe
assemblies that were included in this deal and they look to me like mechanical
brake parts.  Any ideas of what year?


 

2:    This photo is of one stray
brake shoe assembly that looks to be for hydraulic brakes.  Can anyone tell
me if it is a factory part or is it a modified mechanical brake
piece?


 

3:    Is this an original Hudson
steering box and what years does it cover?


 

4:    This is the transmission that
was included in the deal and its missing some internal parts.  I know its
not 16 to 22 so can someone tell me what years it was used?



 

5:    These are the pedals that were
included.  To me it looks like we have ether two clutch or two brake pedals
instead of one of each.  Any ideas?



 

6:    This is a brake backing plate
that was on the chassis.  Any ideas if its a modified mechanical unit or is
it an original unit from a hydraulic brake car?


 

    Jeff is trying to get this
car built for next year's Great Race and we would appreciate any help
on this stuff.  Many more questions to come........
