Ron, if you mean for a '29, they can be made out of a couple of jam tins!

They are basically a silencer, with tow sets of vanes internally that

supposedly spin the incoming air first one way and then the other. The

theory is that the air spins clockwise initially, hits the end of the

filter, when the flow therotecially changes direction and in the process any

dirt falls to the bottom of the chamber, and then proceeds in the opposite

direction, spinning counterclockwise. Anybody who has driven a 1929 Hudson

extensively will recognise the cany whistle of the air cleaner when climbing

a hill in top gear, quite musical! I would be happy to make one up for you

if you can't find one. Takes a couple of hours with a soldering iron and

two large cans.
