Marvel Carburetors

I managed to find two Marvel carburetors at Hershey after much

searching. One was intact with a solid float bowl, and the other was

cracked up pretty bad. Looked like it had been dropped 20 feet onto

concrete. It took me three days of rummaging through carburetor piles

to find them. I bought the one with the solid float bowl, although

the flat area where the float bowl screws to the cast iron carburetor

body is rather warped from overtightening the screws, and I can't seem

to get it to seal up. I would have bought the broken one too for

parts, but they wanted a ridiculous amount of money for it; more than

I paid for the solid one. Geoff, was it you that is having the new

float bowls cast? I would like to get one for the carburetor that I

have on my car now; it has two broken bolt ears. Then I should have a

solid carburetor and a spare.
