Hi James,

I usually look for a motormeter that is broken or

cracked that has the name that I'm looking for, in your case (Essex). Then

I remove the brass disc with the name on it

and install it into a reproduction motormeter. They are available through

Hemmings Motor News. Usually the Model A Ford vendors have them. This

way you get one that works.

You don't have to have one rechromed, and they are usually cheaper than an

original that probably wouldn't work anyway. The repros are exact and even

have the word Motor-Meter on them. They are available either smooth finish

or with the leaf design.
