Re: [HSS] Rebuild of the firetruck rear end.
Congratulations ! Don't forget to buy plenty of
those Hudson Tool Checks before he gets to turning wrenches and borrowing
tools.

rear end.
rear end.
Thanks to Alcar Bearing of North Carolina, I have my rear
end on my
firetruck completed and it is not that hard to do either.
A very
simple but well built Timkin rear end. Napa had one bearing
from San
Diego and Race in Denver. At that rate it would Christmas
in 2006
before I had all the bearing for a complete job. George of
Olcar
matched up all the bearing numbers in two hours and I received them
in
five working days. With holidays and such I should be back on the
road by Jan. Too many things happing to get down and dirty right
now.
That because I am a first time grandfather and the little kritter is
taking most of our time. Spare time of course. With his grip, he
should do fine as a Hudson machanic. Takes after his grandpa of
course.
