Re: [HSS] early carbs

All,

Some years ago when I was getting a bit serious about building a speedster
there was a certain amount of discussion about the twin carbs.  Can't
remember who, but somebody suggested that you really don't need two Hudson carbs
- it's an overkill - but two Essex carbs would be more appropriate.
They're an identical, but smaller.  I can't offer any qualified comment but
intuitively it would seem that if one H Carb will make the car go damn well,
bolting on another one just as big doesn't make sense.  Two smaller carbs
seems like a better idea.  Any ideas out there?

The team cars seem to have had a pair of H carbs, but that was before the
Essex was introduced.  I can imagine they just grabbed whatever was there
in the parts bins!

Cheers........ Peter R.

Subject: [HSS] early carbs

I'm looking for a pair of early Hudson Detroit Lubricator carbs for my
speedster project. These would be the brass ones that (I think were used from
1916 to 1923.

Thank you,
